Australia Cricket World Cup Betting Odds

Australia will go into the 2011 World Cup as one of the favourites in the Cricket World Cup Betting to retain their title having performed brilliantly in the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies. Indeed they are going for their 4th consecutive World Cup win in 2011 having also won in 1999 and 2003, the worry about them would be that they are clearly a weaker team now then they have been during those glory years.

No longer does Ricky Ponting have the chance to rely on the likes of Adam Gilchrist or Matthew Hayden to score the teams runs, while the bowling attack is not in the same class as it was when Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath were destroying teams on a regular basis. Having said that they are still a top class outfit and are programmed to win on these occasions, so it would be no surprise to see Ricky Ponting and his men have a good tournament on the sub-continent.

Australia have been placed in Group A for the tournament alongside the likes of Sri Lanka and Pakistan, they are tough matches but in truth they should have no problem at all in progressing to the next phase of the tournament. Once they there the Aussies can never be ruled out with their winning attitude more often than not coming to the fore.

The Australian line up will probably come from the current contracted players with a few additions in the run up to the first match in February 2011.
